Swiss Tax Calculator: Calculate income tax in all 26 cantons

With Grundheim’s tax calculator, you can calculate your income tax across Switzerland – free of charge, without registration and based on the official FTA tax rates for 2026. Select your canton and municipality, enter gross income, marital status and number of children, and the calculator will determine your federal, cantonal and municipal tax. You can also see how Pillar 3a affects your tax burden and how your municipality compares in the cantonal Steuerfuss comparison. Ideal for anyone planning to move home or optimise their taxes.

How does the tax calculator work?

The calculator combines three tax levels: direct federal tax according to the FTA rate, cantonal tax and municipal tax (determined using the local Steuerfuss). Taxable income is calculated from your gross income after deducting social insurance contributions, professional expenses, Pillar 3a and family deductions. All rates correspond to the official values for the 2026 tax year.

Which cantons and municipalities are covered?

The tax calculator covers all 26 cantons and around 2,100 municipalities in Switzerland – from Zürich, Zug and Schwyz to Genève, Vaud and Ticino. You can compare the tax burden between two municipalities in the same canton or across cantons and identify tax-efficient places to live.
